Well, I was meant to arrive back in London on Thursday after a fantastic ski filled holiday but it turns out that I did not need to go further than my front door to find the snow and I sure as hell could have saved my self a packet too!

But like so many others, my flight was cancelled too, the earliest flight being available only on Monday – that is of course if it does not snow again.

I shouldn’t complain – I can think of worse places to be held captive than pretty rural France (like Gatwick Airport for instance), but it’s not the worry that I am missing work that is getting me down, it is far more simple than that; I miss my heels!

I am a city girl at heart and there is nothing that makes me feel more sexy and empowered than a pair of skyscrapers! Don’t get me wrong, I love getting myself kitted out in my ski gear and planning how many relaxed- yet – moderately -glam looks I can create around a pair of Uggs for the evening, but the novelty wears off very quickly as I start to yearn for my pretty little patent courts and super sexy knee highs.

Last night I decided I had enough and wanted to feel a little bit more like me and chose to don my wedge ankle boots with my leggins and chunky knit (yes, crazy I know but I did actually bring a pair of heels to the mountains!)

The looks from everyone else said it all. Completely over the top . Then to add salt to the wound and the biggest insult any girl like me could receive,  I heard the comment so softly spoken that I could have almost missed it; “Those London Girls are So Over The Top”.

Well naturally I will be reverting back to the Uggs for the rest of my stay and I can guarantee that come the moment I step on UK soil it will be in a pair of heels, come Hell or High Water (and Ice) I will be clip-clopping my way back home merrily.
